Replacing the wimpy stock horn is one of the first modifications I performed on my '96 Savage. Specifically, I wanted to replace it with something that didn't sound at all like a motorcycle horn, rather like a great big truck, if possible. Better to keep 'em guessing, rather than let them know that they're really much bigger than you are.

In any case, any 12 volt automobile horn works just fine. I bought a 133 dB "Highway Blaster" from the local auto parts store for about $10 and it has had the desired effect. I heard many years ago that the stock horn set used on Cadillacs is the same frequency set as is used on General Electric diesel locomotives. Now that would be a real attention getter.
